Why is my blood pressure higher at night than in the morning?

Q: I am 52 yrs old and take Repace 50 tablet at 7 AM. Normally my BP is high in the am (140/100) but now in the morning my BP is 120/90 and in the evening it is 140/100. Why is it fluctuating? What should I do now?

A: It is possible that what you are eating at breakfast is interfering with the absorption of your medication and resulting in fluctuations in your blood pressure control. It is best to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss what is happening.
