Which has more serious side effects, plavix or lisinopril-hctz?

Q: Does Plavix have more serious side effects than Lisinopril-hctz? I got a tinnitus after tooth extraction and try to avoid any medicine that can increase it.

A: Plavix is a drug used to prevent clot formation and Lisinopril-HCTZ is a drug used to lower high blood pressure. These drugs treat different problems so you can’t compare their side effects. To have prescribed them, your doctor must feel both drugs are necessary for your health. Tinnitus is not a usual side effect of either drug.
