Is taking calcium and drinking tea good for high blood pressure?

Q: Is taking calcium and drinking tea good for high blood pressure?

A: Recent literature has suggested that drinking green tea may help lower the risk for developing high blood pressure. However, it is not clear why drinking tea does this so further investigation is needed. Similarly, the American Heart Association has recommended a diet rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium (more fruit and veggies) to help prevent and lower blood pressure but it may be something other than the minerals in these foods that creates the benefit.
