Fluctuating nighttime blood pressure

Q: My BP is around 170/80 at night time (11pm) but reduces to 149/70 in the day-time. I take regular medication including 2x Atenalol 50mg per day. Why does the BP go up at night and not in the day-time?

A: You need to talk to your doctor about your blood pressure measurements as you are not staying in control. You may need to change when you take your blood pressure medication.
