Q: Can 5mg of Altace a day affect my sex drive?
A: Blood pressure medications are notorious for having sexual side effects. These include a decreased sex drive, impotence, and difficulty achieving orgasm. According to Gold Standard, Inc. 2007, a decreased sex drive is not listed as an adverse reaction to Altace. However, different people respond differently to medications. You should discuss this with your doctor to see if changing medication improves your situation.
I am sure the side effects of BP tablets affect my sex drive and me and my loyal wife hate it
100% correct ! BP tablets DO affect the sex drive. but u can solve this by taking some supplements.
i am 53 yrs. old using amlopin at.for B.P
will it affect my sexual life.let me know what type of supplements to be taken along with this medicine.
Talk to doctor to change medication. I used to take Lisinopril having dry coughs. Now on Diovan and Atynelol but need to remember to take them. Had recent TIA stroke when I forgot.
It’s very easy to lower your blood pressure naturally. I did it in about a year by exercising regularly, taking daily walks, eating a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. Taking various supplements including vitamin c, d and cal-magnesium. Limiting alcohol consumption. I am also doing accupuncture and taking chinese herbs. I think the doctors and the pharmaceutical industry want to dupe us into thinking that high blood pressure is genetic and we have to take medicine for the rest of our life. It is a shame that people are making money off our suffering. Shoot me an email if you want to know more.
Thank you for your post. My mother has taken BP meds for decades. Recently the doctor wanted to put me on BP meds as well. I agreed to take a diuretic, but that was it. I’m sure I can overcome this high BP. I walk often, eat healthy and am working on reducing my alcohol intake. Any other tips you share will be greatly appreciated.
I would like to know more about the natural things you do to lower your bp because honestly I hate taking any medication at all.
I believe this to be very true. I am also trying to lower my blood pressure by exercising and eating more vegetables. This certainly does work. What Chinese herbs are recommended?

When one drug affects your health negatively, they simply prescribe another. Over-medication of the population is becoming the #1 cause of disease quickly. You can’t go on free trips unless you sell drugs. That is basically what Doctors are doing now.
Drugs impose side effects and reduce sex drive. You can try natural methods like Muktavati
I take 40 mg of Lisinopril and 5 mg of Norvasc and I have not experienced any long term affects to my sex drive. I haven’t had any issues in the last 3 years. I
Well, I’m thinking that my ED may be caused by my hypertension, not by the meds. Has anyone else come to that conclusion?
Hi,
I will like to find out more from Doug Mlyn about this.
Cheers Kay
Dear people,
I have been taken Amilodipina 5mg for 3 years. Unfortunately it seemed it was not working well any longer. My BP was 147-95 +/-. I did not want to increase mg. I was doing my best but nothing was working. So, I have been receiving emails from Resperate for several years but I did not believe to be true, I mean… “too good to be true”. Being desperate y decided to purchase Resperate.. Believe what. IT WORKS. I do it everyday and now my BP is 117 – 78 +/-. If you need more info. Please get in touch with me.
Are you totally off BP Meds since you started using resperate….How long did it take to notice results with Resperate…..How high is your BP without meds or Resperate?
Wow that sounds good. How do you convince me that your not a spokesperson for the RESPERATE. I would like to try it but quite skeptical. What does resperate teach. Is it a breathing technique etc.
hi margarita,i’m on Amilodipina also for my bp.as with you after a long period on this medication my bp has risen more lately.can you let me know your experience with Resperate.regards,Peter
Iwent to the doctor two weeks ago and my bp was 227/92 one week later it was 237/95 i take lisonopril. any suggestions? I am 58 5’9″ 185 lbs. pretty good physical condition why is my bp so high?
What are the names of the herb that will bring my blood pressure down. I do take meds for it also.
Resperate helps you practice breathing more slowly (within limits), which is soothing somehow, reducing blood pressure. I don’t understand it entirely — I’m an accountant, not a cardiologist — but it has worked for me, BP went back up when I didn’t take the machine on long business trip, so I’m restarting and trying to figure out how to haul all the gadgets that help me when I travel on business@

I’m a 47 yr old white male with 140/90 BP. My doc prescribed Co Diovan 80mg. Of course, the diet and exercise was part of the exam. My high BP seems to be lack of exercise. I work in an office, behind a computer all day. Since, I have started to exercise more and this appears to help with my BP.
Now, has there been any signs of sexual side effects? I would say Yes. While arousal doesn’t seem to be gone, it is alot slower and not quite as firm….at first, I thought it was just me…then I remembered, I didn’t have this issue prior to visiting the doctor.
Like the name says, I’m slower now, but not completely dead…I’m hoping the exercise will counter the negative side effects. Will have to check with the doc during my next visit….
Thanks, these post are encouraging and help me alot.
