BP and emotional stress

Q: I have high BP due to emotional stress. Is it better to relax or exercise to reduce anxiety and BP?

A: Both relaxation and a regular exercise program are important in the treatment of hypertension and for stress reduction. Most people find the time to relax but not to exercise. Regular exercise is a great way to relieve stress and is known to lower blood pressure. In my opinion, if you only have time for one activity, choose exercise.
