How Can Fibromyalgia Medication Affect BP?

Q: If a Patient has Fibromyalgia, can it cause erratic BP readings on a daily basis and corresponding symptoms?

A: Blood pressure is not constant. The level varies depending upon ones activity level. Blood pressure that is 140/90 or greater should be treated. Blood pressure that is so low that symptoms occur, such as dizziness or fainting, also needs treatment.  The medicines for fibromyalgia may contribute to blood pressure swings. One should take their blood pressure readings with them to their next doctor.
