L-Arginine supplement

Q:  How does L-Arginine work with high blood pressure and Type 1 diabetes? And could it help me?

A:  L-arginine is an amino acid.  In the body, it can be part of a complex pathway that causes blood vessels to dilate and makes the body more efficient in using insulin. As a result, both blood pressure and blood glucose levels may be reduced.  Good food sources for L-arginine are nuts, fish, and soy beans. I do not recommend supplements.
