Is there an anti-inflammatory drug that doesn’t raise blood pressure?

Q: I’m unable to take Celebrex because it raised my blood pressure. Is there an anti-inflammatory drug that does not raise blood pressure?

A: All drugs classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents are known to elevate blood pressure. You may not react to all of them in the same way. You should discuss a trial with other agents in this group with your doctor. The pain killer acetaminophen (Tylenol) does not elevate blood pressure but it is not an anti-inflammatory agent.
