Blurred vision from blood pressure drug.

Q: I am a 57 year old male. My doctor recently put me on Exforge 10mg*/160 mg for my high blood pressure. This medication has blurred my vision an really effecting my vision in other ways. What is going on here? I see my doctor in a week. What do I sacrifice my pressure or my vision? I hate this blurred vision. What should I do?

A: Blurred vision is a known side effect of your medication. Other names for Exforge are Amlodipine and Valsartan. You should notify your doctor that you are having this unacceptable side effect. There are other calcium channel blockers and other classes of blood pressure lowering drugs to try without this side effect. In addition, there is the Resperate. It is a medical device proven to lower blood pressure. Unlike pills, it has no side effects.
