Blood pressure measurements jumping up and down.

Q: My initial blood pressure is 140-150/80 (diastolic is always 80 or below) Within 3-5 minutes the systolic goes down to the 115-120 range. I am using the RESPeRATE. Would I be classified as hypertensive? Do I need meds?

A: Average three readings taken 5 minutes apart and you will get a better idea of what your blood pressure is running. If your average reading is under 140/90, I would not label you as hypertensive. You should continue to monitor your pressure and use the Resperate.
