Blood pressure getting too low.

Q: I am a 70 year old male and am taking Lisinopril 20mg& atenolol25mg once daily. I have gone on a diet and exercise program [bike riding daily for 30-45 minutes]. My weight was 220lbs. at 5ft. 9in. I lost about 20lbs. My previous bp was in the 140/85 range. Now, I am getting readings of 110/70 and sometimes 98/65 and 96/ 65. Is this low range dangerous? Thank you for your advice.

A: You are doing all the right things.  You can see you your body has responded to the weight loss and regular exercise.  As long as you are not having symptoms of low blood pressure, such as dizziness or feeling faint, your blood pressure range is not dangerous.  You may want to talk to your doctor about trying to lower your medication.
